An Eco friendly surface from Finland
The environment is becoming more and more important when it comes to design. Architects and designers are look for more and more eco friendly materials that dont compromise on the design aspect or the quality. Durat fill this gap in the market, the guys over in Finland produce polyester based solid surface sheets that are made from plastic consumer waste. The plastic it ground down and used as the bulk of the base material which is then all bonded together with a polyester resin.
Durat its self is 100% recyclable
The material has all the features that other solid surfaces have with regards to the end user experience. However due to the fact that it is made from a polyester resin and not acrylic it does limit its ability to be thermoformed, we wouldn’t recommend it for any form that has a tight radius.
Durat sheets are available in a 12mm thick format and measure 2900mm x 800mm, larger orders of certain colours can have an extended lead time if they have to be imported from Finland but they do stock some colours here in the UK.
Out of all the solid surfaces we offer Durat has the most vibrant colour selection and is great for interior designers that want to inject a little colour into a project.
